Zabeel House Mini
Al Seef is the location of Zabeel House Mini, your home away from home in Dubai. The advantage of this hotel is its close proximity to 90 dining options, 350 retail outlets and lots of fun activities. To make things better the hotel can provide you with a bike or even a pair of roller blades on site to explore Al Seef. If you feel like venturing into the city, just make sure to stick to the pedestrian walk-ways and zebra crossings. Whether you feel like a bicycle or an electric scooter, 45 minutes of cruising will only cost you somewhere between AED 20 to 55.
Shopping at the Souk
Retail therapy in Dubai doesn’t necessarily mean heading to one of the many shopping malls. For a more traditional experience, head down to one of the many souks lining either side of Dubai Creek. The Gold Souk has hundreds of retailers offering a selection of jewellery, diamonds and other precious stones, while the Textile Souk has a wonderful selection of colourful fabrics. It’s also a good place to buy spices, fruits, fresh vegetables, nuts and teas. You could spend a whole afternoon in the souks and overall it’s a great cultural experience.
Abra Boat Ride
Once the sun has come down and it’s a little cooler in the evening, ride along the Deira Creek in one of Dubai’s Dhows or Abras. During the ride you can observe elements of Old Dubai’s skyline which includes the Rolex Towers and a series of other iconic structures along Baniyas Road. You will start at the northern side at Deira Creek and as you venture to Maktoum Bridge you will witness the traditional trading Dhows, residents of Dubai’s Old Port, as well as the famous Banks of Al Seef and all the Old Souks that populate them.
Dine at Bateaux Dubai
If you want to experience a touch of luxury on the creek, Bateaux is your best bet. Inspired by similar vessels on the Seine in Paris and the Thames in London, imagine all the beauty of Dubai Creek with a luxury setting, 5-star service and culinary delights to match. Enjoy freshly prepared gourmet cuisine within a sleek glass-enclosed interior. Take in the historical scenery with maximum panoramic views, a fully air-conditioned vessel and alfresco decks. A must do experience, ideal for special occasions. Price: AED 415 per person.
